Arsenal are reportedly considering including Ainsley Maitland-Niles in an offer to Wolves for midfielder Ruben Neves.
The Gunners are keen on adding Portugal international, who has been at Molineux for four years and made over 150 appearances, to the Emirates Stadium this summer as Mikel Arteta seeks to strengthen his midfield department. While Maitland-Niles spent the second half of last season on loan in the Black Country with Wolves’ rivals West Bromwich Albion, and though he racked up 15 appearances he wasn’t able to help them avoid relegation.
Wolves were very keen on Maitland-Niles last summer when they sold Matt Doherty to Tottenham Hotspur, but a move never materialised.
The
Daily Express claim a deal involving him as part of any deal could be an option.
And now with the new boss Bruno Lage, Wolves might need to make some changes in their squad with the swap deal remaining as a potential option.
