NBA draft set to be postponed until the end of the season, reports claim. Initially, the annual draft should have taken place at Barclays Center (Brooklyn, New York). However, the coronavirus outbreak that has stopped the basketball season in US, has forced the NBA chiefs to move the date. “No decisions have been made yet. You can likely expect that the draft wouldn't be held until after the season concludes.” a source told Field Level Media (via the Daily Mail). The NBA season stopped on March 11. With 257 yet to be played, it seems the draft could take place in late summer, or even in autumn. Also, there is no certainty over the NBA Draft Lottery, which should have take place due May 19. The NBA Draft Lottery is a draw for the franchises that didn’t qualify for the play-offs. The draw decides the places for the picks in the draft for those teams. According to the CBS Sports, the candidates for the Top - 5 picks are LaMelo Ball (school - Australia), Anthony Edwards (school - Georgia), Killian Hayes (school - France), Onyeka Okongwu (school - USC) and Tyrese Haliburton (School - Iowa St.)
