Naby Keita involvement helped Liverpool beat Manchester United in Takumi Minamino transfer race

Liverpool reportedly signed Takumi Minamino of RB Leipzig for the measly price of just £7.25million on Thursday. The transfer was a result of much hard work from Liverpool’s sporting director Michael Edwards. Liverpool have signed three Red Bull Salzburg graduates in recent years: Sadio Mane, Naby Keita and now Minamino. When Liverpool signed Keita, Edwards built a relationship with Salzburg’s director of football, Christoph Freund. The relationship led to the Reds learning that Minamino had a £7.25million release clause in his deal, which expires in 2021. Source- The Mirror
