Nabil Fekir finally breaks silence and speaks out on the failed Liverpool move

Nabil Fekir has finally broken silence and spoken out on his failed move to Liverpool. World Cup 2018 champion was so close to join the Merseyside club back in 2018. He had medical in Liverpool, but then PL side have decided not to sign the player despite the agreement with Lyon. 26-year-old midfielder, who's currently playing for Real Betis, has told l'Equipe (via LiverpoolECHO) that he still doesn't know why Liverpool didn't sign him, as he didn't have knee problems. "You want the truth? Even I don't know - I promise you! I did my medical and then [Liverpool] decided not to sign me. At some point they wanted to have me believe it was because of my knee - but an excuse needed to be found," Fekir said. "The medical tests that I did at Clairefontaine were very clear - my knee is perfectly fine and I feel fine. There are no issues at all with my knee." Frenchman added. Ex-Lyon captain has also that lots of lies were told which harmed him and his family: "The worst thing is the idea that people could suggest that it's because of my family that the transfer didn't happen. It's a lie. But you have to live with it." Source - LiverpoolECHO
