"Mourinho could do worse"- Tottenham told to sign Joelinton after impressive display for Newcastle

Jose Mourinho 'could do worse' than sign Newcastle United striker Joelinton for Tottenham Hotspur, according to NBC pundit Robbie Earle. The pundit left impressed by the Brazilian's performance in Newcastle's 2-2 draw with Tottenham on Sunday. The 24-year-old was key in securing a vital point for the Magpies at St James' Park, scoring the first goal and helping create the second. Joelinton has come in for his fair share of criticism since his club-record £40 million arrivals. Former Wimbledon and Jamaica midfielder, Earle, selected Joelinton as his 'underappreciated player of the week'. "My underappreciated player of the week is Joelinton," Earle said on NBC Sports' Two Robbies podcast. "Ridiculed since his move, not really been a prolific goalscorer, but in difficult times he has played in positions that aren't his best but I look around the division and I don't see players playing for the team with the same effort. "He came up with important goals against Spurs and made a nuisance of himself. There needs to be a little bit of a hat tip to Steve Bruce and the group as well because the narrative had been written that if Newcastle lost against Spurs and Fulham beat Aston Villa to move out of the bottom three and Newcastle would drop in, that would be it. "It's easy as a player to get caught up in that but they played with spirit, a bit of drive, so let's give a bit of love to Joelinton and Steve Bruce. You know what, Jose Mourinho could do worse than buying Joelinton for his Tottenham team. It was a big momentum weekend for Newcastle."
