Mourinho to battle Guardiola for a Portugal star

Jose Mourinho is determined to sign Benfica centre-back Ruben Dias in order to strengthen Tottenham defence, according to The Independent. Dias is reportedly on Spurs target list alongside Nemanja Matic and Bruno Fernandes. However, Manchester City are also interested in the 22-year-old and Guardiola is keen on signing Dias in January, as report The Mirror. Dias has a £59 million release clause in his contract with Benfica, and the Portuguese club is intended to increase his buy-out price to £79 million.
