Monchi reveals why he rejected to join Arsenal

Ramon Monchi has explained why he has decided to return to Sevilla despite the interest from Arsenal. After several months at Serie A side Roma Monchi decided to leave the club, as Roma chiefs sacked Eusebio Di Francesco. Arsenal wanted to sign a contract with Spanish specialist, who could have replaced Sven Mislintat, but Monchi decided to return to Sevilla.

"I appreciate the interest of Arsenal, perhaps the one that has shown the most interest, and of other clubs who have made contact," Monchi said (via Mirror). "I have evaluated the proposals I had and I have chosen Sevilla. "It was the one that brought things together and had the conditions for me." he added. Marc Overmars is currently the only candidate to join Arsenal, as negotiations with Ajax Amsterdams are held according to reports.
