Monchi agrees Arsenal move and is planning different squad for Unai Emery

Roma sporting director Monchi has reportedly agreed to join Arsenal in the summer. Besides Monchi Ajax chief Marc Overmars was another frontrunner for the position, however Monchi is more likely to join the Gunners. According to Marca, the Roma man will take over at Arsenal when his current contract with the Italian club expires in the summer. If Monchi moves to Arsenal, he will reunion with head coach Unai Emerym as they worked together at Sevilla. The Roma sporting chief has an experience of signing talented teenagers as he has brought new names to the Serie A club in the form of Justin Kluivert and Nicolo Zaniolo – the latter bagging a Champions League brace against Porto last week. Arsenal are hoping he can replicate that formula at the Emirates, and they won’t have to pay any compensation fee for the sporting director given that his contract expires this summer.
