Mohamed Salah's former Chelsea teammate admits he did not expect star's improvement

Ex-Chelsea midfielder Jon Obi Mikel says he has been surprised by Mohamed Salah's rise to stardom in the past few years. The two players were teammates at Stamford Bridge. In an interview with OnTime Sports Mikel reflected on Salah's time at Chelsea, and admitted he had no idea just how good the player could become. "When Salah came to Chelsea, he was a young boy, but he had a nice personality and everyone loved him," Mikel said. "He was very disciplined, we were close friends, talking a lot and joking a lot, he was a good friend. I believed in his development, but frankly I did not imagine that he would reach the quality that he has now."
