Mikel Arteta has shared his insights on new signing Kai Havertz's preferred position.
Arsenal fans were excited to witness the German international's skills as he featured in the second half in his debut appearance for Arsenal in a friendly against FC Nurnberg.
The 24-year-old played as the left central midfielder alongside former teammate Jorginho in the double pivot, a position similar to Granit Xhaka's role last season.
Arteta acknowledged that it will take time for the former Chelsea star to fully adapt to the Gunners' playing style, but he expressed satisfaction with the midfielder's debut performance.
The Spanish boss emphasized that Havertz's technical abilities were a significant factor in the club's pursuit of him during the summer transfer window.
Furthermore, in a post-match interview (h/t Now Arsenal), the coach was asked about the player's best position, shedding light on where he believes the talented midfielder can excel.
“We have to see how he adapts, where we see him and to get to know each other, to build relationships – football is about that. Time will tell where he suits best.”
