Mikel Arteta targets Manchester City star on free transfer for Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has targeted Manchester City star Eric Garcia for Arsenal, according to reports. Garcia has rejected to sign a new contract with the Citizens, while the current one expires next summer. The youngster has been heavily linked with the move to his former side, Barcelona, during the summer transfer window, though the deal didn't materialise as both clubs failed to agree on a transfer fee. The Catalan giants are believed to return for the defender in January, while according to The Sun, Arteta wants to bring the player to the Emirates Stadium. Gunners manager previously worked with Garcia at City and is a huge admirer of him. However, he will have to wait till the next summer as the club defenders with the likes of David Luiz, Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Shkodran Mustafi could leave at the end of the campaign once their contracts expire.
