Mikel Arteta speaks out on facing Liverpool without Salah and Mane


Arsenal are preparing to face Liverpool in the Carabao Cup semi-final on Thursday, January 13. The game was initially scheduled for January 6, however, it was postponed due to the COVID19 outbreak in the Reds squad. The Reds approach the game with several injuries and COVID19 concerns, as well as Jurgen Klopp's side, are currently without their key players Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Salah, Mane and also Naby Keita are currently on international duty due to Africa Cup of Nations. Ahead of the game, Mikel Arteta spoke out on facing the Reds without the duo. "I always have hope when I play and when I'm competing for any trophy," said Arteta during a press conference ahead of the clash on Thursday. "They have a couple of players out, we certainly have a lot out as well. It is what it is. We're going to have to go there to try to win the first match because it's going to put us in a better position for the second one." The Gunners also currently have several injury concerns, COVID19 cases and players out on international duty for AFCON.
