Mikel Arteta reveals the reason Arsenal made only three signings this summer

Mikel Arteta has spoken up about Arsenal's transfers for this summer in an interview. The Gunners have spent just £80million on their three signings Ben White, Albert Sami Lokonga and Nuno Tavares. Arteta is still interested in a creative midfielder with James Maddison and Martin Odegaard as the first options. He's also known to be keen on Aaron Ramsdale, yet Sheffield United refused to accept an offer for their goalkeeper. However, Arsenal boss has explained the reason of their lack of movement for transfers.

"It’s been a difficult window. Probably a lot of things will happen in the last week or so.

 

"We are talking about probably the most difficult transfer market in this industry for the last few years and we are trying to adapt.", he said.

  The Spanish manager emphasized money as the biggest problem.

"It (money) is for every club at the moment. We have ownership that they are willing to invest in the team and they want to get the team better with bigger aims."   Mikel Arteta also added, "But at the same time we need to be careful because we want to be in a financial position that is sustainable for the club".
