Mikel Arteta makes "clear and strong" claim over Martin Odegaard future at Arsenal

Arsenal picked up a 2-0 win over Brighton on Sunday, as they played their last Premier League game this season. Nicolas Pepe's brace secured three points for the Gunners and they finish 8th in the standings, failing to qualify for the European football next season. After the match head coach Mikel Arteta talked about the future of Martin Odegaard, who is set to return to Real Madrid as his loan spell ends. Arsenal boss was asked how confident the club is to see the Norwegian playmaker playing at the Emirates next season, to which he replied: "Well, we have a very clear and strong opinion on what we would like to do, but he’s not our player. We will have to discuss in the next few weeks what and respect first of all because he’s a Real Madrid player and have those communications. "We tried to make everything that we could to get Martin performing for the team, which I think he’s done. He has adapted really well to our way of playing and to our football club. Hopefully we have given him as well the hope and the feeling that it could be a good place for him." "I don’t know( on convincing Real to let them keep him for another year) . It’s not in our hands so I don’t know," Arteta added. Source- football.london Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
