Mikel Arteta issues injury updates on Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has issued an update on Bukayo Saka, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe following their win over Sheffield United. The Gunners celebrated a 3-0 victory over Sheffield on Sunday as Alexandre Lacazette scored a double, while Gabriel Martinelli also got his name on the scoresheet. Saka suffered a thigh injury during the first half of the 3-0 win, while Odegaard is currently out with an ankle problem. Smith Rowe is also currently struggling with a thigh problem, meanwhile, Aubameyang missed the game against Sheffield due to illness. When asked about Saka’s condition, Arteta replied: "I don’t know, he had to come off, he had some discomfort in his thigh. "It’s the last thing that we need because we’re missing some big players at the moment and we don’t want to lose another one. "I don’t know the extent. I think for Thursday David [Luiz] will be out, Kieran [Tierney] will be out, Emile and Martin we don’t know yet. And Bukayo we’ll see how he will develop in the next few days. Asked if there’s a chance of Odegaard and Smith Rowe returning for the game, Arteta replied: "I don’t know. I want to think yes but if I’m honest I don’t know." "I hope so yes," Arteta said about Aubameyang’s chances of being available against Slavia Prague. "He wasn’t well yesterday, he could not train, he could not be available today, but hopefully in the next day or two he will be feeling better and he will be available." The Gunners will face Prague on Thursday for their Europa League quarter-final second leg game. The first leg between the clubs ended in a 1-1 draw.   source - Metro  / Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
