Mikel Arteta interested in signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ollie Watkins as replacement for Arsenal striker

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa to replace Alexandre Lacazette. The Frenchman is expected to depart the Emirates upon the expiry of his £180,000-a-week contract next summer. Lacazette is yet to start a Premier League match this season after contracting Covid on the eve of the new campaign, and it is believed an extension is not on the cards. Head coach Mikel Arteta is looking for a long-time replacement for the striker, and according to The Sun, Calvert-Lewin and Watkins are at the top of his wish-list. The Spaniard is willing to add a young target man to his squad amid Arsenal's transfer policy of building a squad around youth. Everton tied Calvert-Lewin down to a five-year deal worth £75,000-a-week last year, while £28million ace Watkins is also under contract at Villa until 2025.
