Mikel Arteta hints £48k-a-week Arsenal star would get regular game time

Mikel Arteta has dropped a huge hint that Ainsley Maitland-Niles could become a regular starter in Arsenal. The midfielder looked to be on the verge of leaving the north London club late in the summer transfer window. Maitland-Niles subsequently posted a message on his Instagram which said: “All I wanna do is go where I’m wanted and where I’m gonna play.” However, in a recent press conference, head coach Arteta says the 24-year-old will get a chance for more game time, as Granit Xhaka will be out for months. When asked whether the Hale End graduate could be a player to step in, Gunners boss replied: “He’s certainly one.” His contract is reportedly worth £48.000-a-week and will expire in the summer of 2023.
