Mikel Arteta has revealed that the club plans to hold talks with Emile Smith Rowe over a new contract deal. Smith Rowe has been having an impressive season with the Gunners as he has made overall 32 appearances in which he has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists. The 20-year-old’s current contract with the club expires in the summer of 2023.
“We are going to have that discussion,” Arteta told Sky Sports when asked if plans were in place to tie Smith Rowe down to a long-term deal.
“I think Emile has earned the right to look at that situation because of the performances that he has produced. He’s very much engaged and wants to continue with us, that’s for sure.”
