Mesut Ozil drops hint on his Arsenal future

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil, who has long been linked with a move away from the club, insists he wants to stay at the Emirates. Ozil penned a new deal with the club last January worth £62 million over three and a half years. His contract looked like some of the best business of the window, however, under Unai Emery he has been a peripheral figure and the deal viewed in a more different light. Asked if he wants to stay, Ozil said: “Absolutely. I’ve got two more years on my contract. I don’t know after that but I’ve got two years left. Yes (I am happy here). Why not? I’m 30 now, I’ve still got years in front of me. It’s down to the club as well of course.” When asked whether he has any issues with his manager, the World Cup winner replied: “Definitely not. There’s always speculation, everyone inside knew that our situation is positive. It’s frustrating. I want to play in every game. Through injury, I’ve missed games but that’s football. The coach makes decisions which means you may not start but you have to keep going.” Ozil, who earns an incredible £587,000 per game played, has made 31 appearances for the Gunners this season so far, has scored six goals and provided three assists. The former Germany international will be in action on Thursday, May 2, in the Europa League semi-final first leg clash against Valencia. Source- Daily Mail
