Messi named as World Tourism Organisation Ambassador

FC Barcelona star  Leo Messi has been named as the new Ambassador for Responsible Tourism for the United Nations' World Tourism Organisation. "The United Nations' World Tourism Organisation works for tourism to be a source of development, and I am very pleased to join this work to promote responsible tourism. Every time that I have travelled, it has allowed me to find out about other cultures and societies, as well as other ways of seeing the world -something I believe is very enriching," said Messi. As a public figure to reflect the unity between sport and tourism,  before was named Fernando Hierro and Vincente del Bosque.   The announcement  was attended by the organisation's Secretary General, Zurab Pololikashvili. "Messi exceeds all superlatives as a sportsman, and is an example of will, constant hard work and perseverance producing good results. We are honoured that he has joined the OMT's cause," commented  Zurab Pololikashvili.
