Mauricio Pochettino may replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in one condition

Mauricio Pochettino could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Manchester United head coach if they lose against Sheffield United on Sunday, claims former Tottenham forward Chris Waddle. Pochettino was sacked on Tuesday from Tottenham and was replaced by Jose Mourinho a day after. Manchester United has endured the poorest start to the season in 30 years and there have been numerous speculations of Solskjaer being replaced as well. Speaking to the Racing Post, Waddle has insisted the Argentine manager will not be unemployed for so long: “Mauricio Pochettino won’t be out of work for long and there’s a game at Bramall Lane this weekend which could be massive for his future,” he said. “Sheffield United take on Manchester United in a game which has far bigger implications than just the three points. United have never made any secret of the fact that they wanted Pochettino and he’s now suddenly available. Defeat at Sheffield United on Sunday suddenly ratchets up the pressure on Solskjaer, there will be a feeding frenzy from the media, and it will be interesting to see if United’s board reacts.” However, in his press conference, the Red Devils boss revealed that Pochettino being available doesn’t add pressure to him: “No, it doesn’t bother me at all, I’ve got the best job in the world and if you’re in or out of a job you want this job, so it doesn’t really matter whatever happens around it. I’ve got to focus on my job at Manchester United, do it as well as we can, speak with Ed and the owners all the time about how we move forward and that doesn’t change if others change managers," said Solskjaer. Manchester United are currently holding the 7th position in Premier League with 16 points, while Tottenham are in the 14th with 14 points. Source- Daily and Sunday Express
