Mauricio Pochettino, as reported by Football London, said he was pleased by Dele Alli’s performance in Tottenham’s Champions League draw with Olympiacos, but claimed that the 23-year-old needs to improve.
Spurs opened the scoring with Harry Kane’s penalty shot and four minutes later it was doubled by Lucas Moura. But the Greek team managed to score two goals as well, so the match ended with 2-2 draw.
After Tottenham unimpressive performance, Pochettino spoke about Dele Alli;
“We are going to help and try to find the best level that he needs to start to be the same as he was. Today was a tough game when the collective performance wasn’t the same and for sure it wasn’t a great game, but overall I am happy with his performance. Of course, we know well, and he knows, that he needs to improve but he only needs time now.”
The Englishman scored only five goals and contributed three assists and has a lot to prove this season, as Spurs fans expect more from him.
