Premier League action returns on Friday with West Ham United taking on newly-promoted side Luton Town away from home and below are our predictions on this week's fixtures.
Predictions on Premier League fixtures for Matchday four
Below are our predictions for this week's Premier League matchday four fixtures including Arsenal vs Manchester United and Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest.
Luton Town vs West Ham United
The Hammers went against all odds to stage a huge 3-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend away from home. David Moyes' side will look to maintain their momentum when they embark on another away game on Friday against Luton Town, who are yet to get a point in the Prem this season. Every odd is backing West Ham to get their third Prem win in a spin, which would eventually extend The Hatters' dreadful start to the season to three defeats in a row.
Prediction: Luton Town 0-2 West Ham
Sheffield United vs Everton
This encounter looks tricky, thanks to how both teams started their season. Sheffield United have lost their opening three fixtures, the same for Everton. However, bookmakers believe The Toffees have a slight advantage over The Blades but because both teams are struggling to score goals, we feel this lunchtime showdown could end in stalemate.
Prediction: Sheffield United 0-0 Everton.
Manchester City vs Fulham
The Premier League reigning champions are the only team with a 100% start to the season, having won their opening three league matches. They welcome a Fulham side, who fought back with ten men to salvage a 2-2 draw against Arsenal last time out. Man City are aware of Fulham's threat and wouldn't want to repeat the same drab performance they showed at Sheffield United last weekend.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-1 Fulham
Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest
The Blues have endured a rollercoaster start to the season as they have won, drawn and lost in their opening three Premier League matches. They escaped with a 2-1 win over Wimbledon on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup 2nd round and if they replicate that same performance against Nottingham Forest on Saturday, they would obviously struggle, given how the Tricky Tree performed at Old Trafford last Saturday. Steve Cooper's side went 2-0 up inside four minutes at Manchester but eventually lost the game. We don't expect The Blues to start as badly as United, hence we are anticipating a tight game at Stamford Bridge. Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Nottingham Forest.
Burnley vs Tottenham
Tottenham may be one of the leaders in the Premier League after three matches and Burnley at the bottom, there's a chance this game could end exactly the opposite of how Ange Postecoglou had planned it. The Clarets are in search for their first win in the Prem this season and considering Vincent Kompany's mentality, they would give everything in their power to ensure they don't record three defeats at home in a spin, after defeats to Man City and Aston Villa. Tottenham dominated them in their last five meetings but this encounter would hit different.
Prediction: Burnley 1-1 Tottenham.
Brentford vs Bournemouth
The Bees are onbviously the favourites to get all three points on Saturday, thanks to their form. Brentford are unbeaten [1W 2D] in the Prem, unlike The Cherries, who have recorded two loses and one draw already. This clash will be tight, but the odds back the hosts to get the win.
Prediction: Brentford 1-0 Bournemouth.
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Newcastle United
Both teams will look to bounce back to winning ways this weekend, following their results last time out. The Seagulls surprisingly lost 3-1 to West Ham at home as favourites, while The Magpies succumbed to a 2-1 disappointing defeat to ten men Liverpool, despite leading 1-0 before the Virgil van Dijk red card. Both teams are exciting to watch and are good goalscoring sides, hence we expect high pressing football on both ends. It's rare for De Zerbi's side to lose two home matches on a bounce, and for this reason, we have backed them to react to West Ham defeat in the best possible way.
Prediction: Brighton 3-1 Newcastle United.
Crystal Palace vs Wolves
The Eagles are stubborn at home and don't score many goals, something that can also be boldly say about Wolves, who are set to lose their key player Mathaeus Nunez to Man City. This encounter will lack goals and it wouldn't come down as a surprise if if finished goalless. Both teams have won one league game but we expect them to head into the international break exactly that same way.
Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-1 Wolves
Liverpool vs Aston Villa
Jurgen Klopp's side is a different beast at Anfield. Although they will welcome Aston Villa without their captain, Virgil van Dijk, who received the marching orders last weekend at Newcastle United, they are likely to dominate the game and possibly win it. Howeve, Villa have impressed under Unai Emery, hence it's safe to expect a shocker in Liverpool on Sunday. Both teams have won twice already, and as a result, we could be in for an entertaining game.
Prediction: Liverpool 3-2 Aston Villa.
Arsenal vs Manchester United
Although both Arsenal and Manchester United have won two of their opening three Prem matches, they are struggling to dominate games. The Gunners succumbed to a 2-2 draw against ten men Fulham while United had to come from 2-0 down to stage a tight 3-2 win against ten men Nottingham Forest. If the pair put out the same performances from last weekend, we could anticipate a draw game and because United would be without a number of first team players due to injury issues, we have backed Mikel Arteta's side to edge Erik ten Hag's Reds.
Prediction: Arsenal 1-0 Manchester United.
