Mason Mount makes Chelsea promise amid Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner injuries

Mason Mount has claimed that he and Chelsea have yet to hit top gear - but are still determined to become world champions. The 22-year-old has not scored this season in 15 games for club and country and just assisted once. Chelsea's upcoming opponents are Norwich City, however, they will be without Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner, who suffered injuries in the midweek against Malmo. And Mount claims they are not playing as well as last year despite sitting top of the table. He said:
“The games we’ve played at the start of this season, they’ve been tough games but I don’t think we’ve been at our best, yet look where we are.   “We can take a lot of positives from that, look at what we can do better, so it’s a positive for us.   “There’s more to come but it’s little adjustments here and there to work on in training and being ready to step up in the games.   “Getting goals from all areas is a big thing for us, a big positive and shows we can be dangerous from different parts of the team.   “But it’s about time I get on the score sheet for once! You go through little stages and I’m not someone who is going to worry massively about it.   “I’m still getting in the right areas but it’s not falling to me, I’m not getting chances but hopefully when that first one goes in, the floodgates will open.   “When you win the Champions League, you have more opportunities to win more trophies.   “We’re a club which wants to win silverware, we want to win the Champions League, we achieved that last season and now we want to champions of the world to go with the Super Cup. We’re ready for that. We’re raring to go.   “That first was such a special one and when you get a taste of winning, you want to win more and we have the opportunity to win more trophies this season.”
