Martin Skrtel knocked unconscious and ‘swallowed tongue’

Former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel was knocked unconscious and reportedly swallowed his tongue after he was hit during an international clash against Thailand on Sunday. Skrtel, 33, collapsed to the floor and lay motionless as his team-mate  Ondrej Duda rushed to his side and quickly realizing the situation reached into his mouth and prevented Skrtel from swallowing his tongue. After the incident a fan wrote that Skrtel is OK following the scare. He wrote on Twitter: "Relieved to hear Martin Skrtel is okay after getting knocked out and swallowing his tongue today." Not only did Duda potentially save Skrtel's life, he went onto score and assist in Slovakia's 3-2 victory.
