Marseille seriously considering a move for Arsenal defender

According to the latest news by France Football, Marseille are keen on a deal for Nacho Monreal in January. The Spaniard, who arrived at the Emirates in January 2013, is out of contract at the end of the season. Following series of injuries he sustained throughout the season, the 32-year-old made his comeback as a substitute in Saturday’s 1-0 win over Huddersfield Town. While it is unclear if he is in Unai Emery's plans beyond the end of this campaign, it's understood that there are clubs who target him as a possible option for January transfer window. Maseille are currently fifth in Ligue 1 but are just four points clear of 11th-placed Reims. And now they are looking for reinforcements to come in and push them higher up the league while the left-back position is a specific area they are looking to improve. Hence, with the January transfer window just around the corner, is is understood they have identified the Premier League player as potential target. Arsenal defender Monreal played the majority of the opening games of the season in a conventional left-back role despite missing 11 matches due to a hamstring injury.
