Marco van Ginkel has signed a new one-year contract at Chelsea. The 27-year-old’s previous contract expires this summer but his new deal takes his Chelsea career into its eighth season.
The Dutch midfielder signed from Vitesse in 2013 and made a promising start, playing four games until a cruciate injury in his second month halted his progress.
Having recovered, he spent the next season on loan at AC Milan. Then he spent loan spells at Stoke City and PSV Eindhoven. In July 2018 he underwent further knee surgery and he has yet to make his playing return.
