Marcos Alonso has backed Chelsea coach Antonio Conte insisting the Italian coach did a great job despite their struggles this season.
Conte led his Chelsea team to the Premier League title with a record-breaking 30 wins. However, this season has been very difficult as the Blues are currently sitting in fifth place in the top-flight standings and have been knocked out of the Champions League.
"In England, after winning the Premier League, it is normal to have a difficult year, especially with the level that Manchester City are maintaining throughout the season," Alonso told Marca.
“Now we have an important end of the year, to qualify for the Champions League and fight for the FA Cup. We're looking forward to it."
When then asked about Conte, Alonso replied: "He has done a great job and we only think about finishing well."
