Marcelo Bielsa has explained why he made a double substitution at half time during Leeds United's 6-2 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday, December 20.
Bielsa subbed off Kalvin Phillips and Mateusz Klich as they were replaced by Pascal Struijk and Jamie Shackleton when the score was 4-1.
The Whites manager said: "We were losing the game by a big margin and I thought that with a more defensive midfield we would have the opportunity to get back closer to them in the score.
"It improved the recovery of the ball in midfield as we were able to continue to attack well."
