Manuel Pellegrini criticizes Manchester City for their style of play

Manchester City started their title defense in an impressive way, as Pep Guardiola's side humiliated West Ham United 5-0 in away match. Raheem Sterling scored a hat-trick, while Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero added one each to answer Liverpool in the first match-day. West Ham United head coach Manuel Pellegrini told reporters after the match that his team did well in the first half and they didn't notice that Manchester City are dominating, because both teams had equal amount of chances to score. 65-year-old Chilean emphasized the fact, that Guardiola's players have been making tactical fouls throughout the 90 minutes of the game and it's not acceptable for him. "Every time that we tried to arrive to their box, they committed 13 fouls. We had just five. We were a little bit innocent. After that we had a couple of chances to make it 2-1, finally with spaces in the last minutes the scored their goals." he said. "We must be more intelligent though to know when to make them, not use it as a system. "If you review the game today, we didn't create too many chances because many of our attacking chances were stopped by a foul. They had 13 fouls, we had five fouls. "But I repeat, I don't think that is just the reason we lost 5-0." Pellegrini added Source - Goal
