Manchester United are in the market to find central midfielder. They have been linked with Aston Villa's Jack Grealish but they have already signed Bruno Fernandes.
Currently, the Red Devils have six central midfielders on their ranks.
MEN Sport ranked all United's current central midfield players, attacking and defensive, from worst down to best.
6. Andreas Pereira
Pereira has not a bad player and retains support from Solskjaer, but he's down the United pecking order somewhat.
5. Nemanja Matic
Matic did enough to warrant an extra year at Old Trafford, with United triggering the 12-month extension option in his contract. Matic can do a vital job over the next year using his experience.
4. Scott McTominay
McTominay is arguably United's most improved player and has a big future at the club.
3. Fred
Fred has been by far United's most consistent midfielder this season, remaining injury-free and usually covering more ground over 90 minutes than any of his teammates.
2. Paul Pogba
Pogba is a hugely talented footballer. On ability alone, he should probably be United's No.1 midfielder. The issue, of course, is that the Frenchman has been injured for much of the 2019/20 campaign.
1. Bruno Fernandes
Fernandes has proven to be a truly elite player and arguably one of the most important United signings of recent times. The Portuguese playmaker filled the void of creativity in the United midfield, creating and scoring goals and expertly linking attack and midfield.
