Manchester United U21 faced Southampton in the Football League Trophy group stage and suffered a 2-1 defeat. The only goal for the Red Devils was scored by Zidane Iqbal.

Zidane scored the goal at the 57th minute and equalized, however, Southampton scored the winner at the 66th minute.
