Manchester United to pay Sporting €10m for Ruben Amorim exit clause

Manchester United to pay Sporting €10m for Ruben Amorim exit clause

Manchester United are one step away from announcing Ruben Amorim as their new manager hours after the sacking of underperformed manager, Erik ten Hag.

Amorim became a serious contender for the Man United managerial job following the sacking of Erik ten Hag on Monday morning. The Portuguese boss has already said "YES" to the idea of becoming the new United boss, but the Red Devils and Sporting have some paperwork to finalise before his deal can be made official.

Among other criteria for Sporting to part ways with Amorim is his release clause. And this doesn't appear to be a stumbling block as reports claim that the Manchester club are set on meeting the Portuguese club's demands.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United are willing to pay €10m to Sporting Lisbon to relieve Ruben Amorim of his duty as the coach of Sporting CP.

The transfer guru also confirmed that the two-time Primeira Liga champion has already said "yes" to the Manchester United managerial job, and his move to Old Trafford can be described as a 'deal done'.

Several reports have suggested that Amorim is likely to be United's new coach ahead of the club's Premier League game against Chelsea at Old Trafford this weekend. Of course, if everything goes as planned between both clubs.

The Portuguese club has already released a public statement about the potential departure of Ruben Amorim, which further confirms the former Benfica player is increasingly likely to leave the club.
