Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reortedly wants to make two further additions after completing Raphael Varane transfer.
After finally signing Jadon Sancho, United are looking for making a move for the Real Madrid centre-back.
However, United are yet to agree a fee with Real, who reportedly want between £42.9m (€50m) and £51.5m (€60m) for the France international.
While speaking on Reach PLC's
Transfer Window podcast, Duncan Castles claims Solskjaer wants to also sign a midfielder and a right-back before the end of the summer.
Castles said:
"They have Sancho secured with Dortmund, apart from fine details, and ready to start pre-season as soon as he can after England's European Championship campaign.
"Solskjaer's been provided with an incredible degree of attacking resource. He's been provided with a huge amount of money to improve in defence.
"He has a midfield where a player like Donny van de Beek, who was wanted by Real Madrid, is barely used last season. [He] still wants other reinforcements in midfield and right-back as well.
"If you have all of that, I think there has to be an obligation on Solskjaer's part to deliver silverware finally and end that trophy drought that he's presided over during his time at the club."
