Manchester United step up £130m double transfer swoop for Premier League duo

Manchester United are ready to splash £130m on Leicester duo James Maddison and Ben Chilwell in January. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has overseen the club’s worst start to a season in 30 years, which has left them sitting 12th in the Premier League table. It has now emerged the Norwegian is looking to step-up swoops for attacking midfielder Maddison and left-back Chilwell. Maddison, 22, has only missed one Premier League fixture this season and has been highly rated since his move from Norwich in 2018. Chilwell, on the other hand, is seen as one of the best full-backs in the Premier League. A United source told the Sun: “We have already compiled a scouting report of both of them. We have been watching them for a few years now. They fit all the right requirements and criteria in terms of quality and keeping an English core which is important. Ole likes them but it would be difficult to get them both at the same time. We will have to wait and see what happens.”
