Manchester United have reportedly made contact with AC Milan over striker Krzysztof Piatek.
Piatek has been linked with Tottenham and Barcelona.
The Red Devils, meanwhile, desperate to sign a replacement for injured Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has suffered a double stress fracture to his back, ruling him out for up to three months.
The Athletic reported United had already enquired about the availability of Piatek prior to Rashford's injury.
Since his move to AC Milan from Genoa in last summer, Piatek has made 40 appearances, has scored 16 goals and has created two assists.
AC Milan are demanding a fee in the region of €35million (£29.7m).
