Manchester United are still interested in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, according to reports.
However, the 25-year-old has recently been linked with a move to
Newcastle United.
McGinn has developed into one of of the best value for money arrivals in recent history at Villa Park having cost under £3m from Hibs two years ago.
He played an essential role in promotion from the Championship previous season and impressed on the Premier League stage before sustaining a fractured ankle in December.
Villa's midfielder was first linked with a move to the Old Trafford last summer amid claims that legendary Sir Alex Ferguson was pushing for a move having watched his development closely.
If no offer was done then with McGinn will sign a new and improved five-year deal at Villa.
Steve Bruce, who signed McGinn for Villa, was this weekend linked with a £30m Newcastle bid for the former St Mirren player.
McGinn has featured in 20 clashes for Dean Smith's side this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
