Manchester United have reportedly identified alternative for Dayot Upamecano. They are enquiring over a move for Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar.
Upamecano is a highly sought-after prospect after his stellar Bundesliga and European performances in recent seasons. However, United may struggle to persuade the German side to part with the 21-year-old, who recently signed a new contract with the club.
Instead, the Red Devils are said to have 'asked for information' on Skriniar, who has fallen down the pecking order at the San Siro.
According to
FCInterNews United have enquired, along with Jose Mourinho's Tottenham side. The player is said to feel 'lukewarm' about a move to Old Trafford as well, with an Inter stay his ideal scenario.
Spurs were in pole position for the 25-year-old, according to Italian outlet Tuttosport. This was due to Inter's interest in Tanguy Ndombele, a player who seemingly has no future in north London under Mourinho.
A deal would have worked for both parties due to the lack of finances involved - but Skriniar has put an end to any swap.
