Manchester United "haven’t given up" on signing defender – Yet to meet asking price

Manchester United are leading the race for Porto left-back Alex Telles, according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola. The report claims that the 27-year-old is close to leaving his current side as his departure this summer "starts being inevitable". The defender has been linked with a number of clubs, including Wolves and Sevilla, however it is reported that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side are the main competitors for him. However, they should still reach the price tag of at least €30m set by Porto. Telles has a release clause of €40m. His contract expires next year, and while he is not going to renewal his contract with the Dragons, they won’t risk losing him for free.
