Manchester United have three candidates for player of the year award

Premier League teams, incuding Manchester United, are facing the reality of their season ending after 29 games. Due to coronavirus outbreak Premier League has been suspended until April 3 at least and it's still uncertain when the teams can go back to their daily routine and start playing. Despite the situation, United have contenders for their annual Sir Matt Busby Award - the player of the year gong. The player of the year awards might not be in May, they might not officially take place at all, but fans will certainly want to cast their vote. And here are the three candidates: Aaron Wan-Bissaka Wan-Bissaka's stats have not been impressive this season, as he has managed to provide two assists to teammates in 26 Premier League appearances, however, Red Devils would be in serious trouble without him. The 22-year-old settled in immediately after signing, had no problems and looked a powerhouse in the 50-50 duels.   He has bettered Raheem Sterling on numerous occasions this campaign, turned up in all the big games and even his attacking game has improved. United fans have been impressed with Wan-Bissaka and he will surely have a great chance of taking the Sir Matt Busby award. Fred Solskjaer has taken Fred under his wing and the huge strides Fred has made in recent months have turned him into one of a fans' favourites. The 26-year-old has grown slowly, adapted to the pace of the Premier League and made the central midfield position his own. He stood tall amid injuries to Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba. He’s now undroppable, integral to the way the team plays and would be a worthy winner of the player of the year award. Marcus Rashford Solskjaer's focus on getting Rashford and Anthony Martial firing has paid off, with United hitting four or more goals on seven occasions this season. However some might insist Rashford’s recent back injury, which has ruled out him since mid-January, should make him exempt but his 19 goals in all competitions put him top of the United scorers’ list. He was United’s talisman - and will be again when he’s back from injury. He would be a worthy winner as well. Source- Manchester Evening News
