Manchester United and Real Madrid played a friendly game in Santa Clara as a part of International Champions Cup.
Jose Mourinho’s men managed to take an advantage over Madrid in the dying minutes of the first half, as Anthony Martial brilliantly passed through the Champions League winners’ defense and passed the ball to Jesse Lingard who had nothing else but to put the ball into the empty net.
In the second half, Zinedine Zidane chose to field youngsters from club academy and they didn’t disappoint the coach, outperforming Man Utd stars in every part of the pitch. It resulted in a penalty won by Theo Hernandez, after Victor Lindelof’s late challenge. Casemiro converted the penalty with ease and confidence.
The 90 minutes of the game didn’t decide the winner, and penalties were called to help. In the series, Man Utd were luckier and won it 2-1.
