Manchester United players could change club's transfer plans this January

Manchester United are attempting to strengthen the areas of a winger, a centre-back, a back-up right-back and a holding midfielder during the transfer window. Red Devils have lacked a genuinely top-class right-winger since Nani left, and Aaron Wan-Bissaka is currently devoid of credible challengers on the right side of United's back four, regardless of the presence of Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Brandon Williams and Ethan Laird at the club. Those are two areas in which United may well have to spend to strengthen in — Jadon Sancho remains on United's radar and if they can dig out a similar deal for a back-up right-back that they conjured for Alex Telles on the opposite flank they would be delighted. And when it comes to the club's desire to recruit in holding midfield and at centre-back, though, they are already blessed with options within the club. In midfield, United have six operators who are capable or better, with Scott McTominay, Fred, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek all there to be called upon. In defence, Dayot Upamecano's reasonable release clause that clubs will be able to trigger from next year would be difficult to resist were it guaranteed that United would be his first-choice destination, but other members of Europe's elite are likely to circle and United in their current guise aren't guaranteed to be the Frenchman's top pick. Victor Lindelof has recovered from his abomination against Crystal Palace in the league opener and Harry Maguire appears more focused than he was at the beginning of the campaign, while Axel Tuanzebe has credit in the bank from the shackling of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar in Paris. So, United have a few areas they need to strenghten in the upcoming transfer windows, but most of the solutions can be found within the club. Source- Manchester Evening News Join us on Telegram!
