Manchester United suffered defeat to Arsenal in their first game of the year and they will be looking to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

Midfield signings are pivotal for United this month, and the Old Trafford side are looking at Sean Longstaff and Emre Can help deal with an injury crisis. 

According to <a class="_e75a791d-denali-editor-page-rtfLink" href="https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/4025380/manchester-united-eye-emre-can-sean-longstaff-to-ease-injury-crisis-sources" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">ESPN</a>, Can and Longstaff have been added to the pool of targets, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set to be backed by the board this window.  

Longstaff has been a key player for Newcastle United, while Can has been out of favour at Juventus.
