Manchester United are reportedly on the verge of making a £60million move for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa.
The 22-year-old’s superb displays have seen him earn 17 caps for Italy, while he has also caught the eye of United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who is ready to add another winger to his ranks.
According to Italian outlet Corriere Fiorentino, United are ‘very close’ to agreeing a £60m deal to sign Chiesa. But the report adds the player has ‘always made it clear’ he is settled in Italy and not ready to make a transfer abroad at this stage in his career.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes the Italy international could be a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho, with Borussia Dortmund demanding in excess of £100m for the 20-year-old English ace.
Chiesa has scored seven goals and provided five assists in 30 appearances for Fiorentina this season.
