Manchester United are tempted to assemble a transfer committee made up by three former players to help identify new targets.
Rio Ferdinand and Darren Fletcher are two ex-United players to have been strongly linked to taking up the newly-created position, according to The Sun.
The report indicates that the idea was discussed at Carrington earlier this week. Nicky Butt’s name was also mentioned.
United finished the 2018/19 campaign sixth in the Premier League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
