Manchester United announce 25-man Premier League squad for 2023/24 season

Manchester United has confirmed that Jadon Sancho and Donny van de Beek are part of their 25-player squad for the Premier League.

Real Sociedad and other clubs were expressing interest in Van de Beek. Despite those claims, the midfielder is set to continue his playing spell with the Red Devils.

The club have also disclosed that six of their new summer signings have made it into the squad, but Rasmus Hojlund is not included due to being 20 years old.

Players born after January 1, 2002, are not required to be named in the squad, which means that Alejandro Garnacho and Amad Diallo are not on the list.

Notably, Sancho is listed among the forwards in the squad, suggesting a possible improvement in his relationship with Erik ten Hag, the manager. During the summer, there were rumors of Sancho leaving Old Trafford, especially after he was left out of the matchday squad against Arsenal, which fueled further speculations.

When asked about the decision, Ten Hag explained that he believed Sancho was not training at the required level, a claim that Sancho promptly denied in a now-deleted social media post where he expressed feeling unfairly targeted.
