Manchester United accused of making 'fundamental error' in Jadon Sancho transfer

Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward has been accused of making a 'fundamental error' during talks with Borussia Dortmund by reports in Germany. The Red Devils are trying to bring Jadon Sancho back to the Premier League, three years after he left Manchester City. The Bundesliga side value their prized winger at £108million and are adamant that they will not drop that price tag. United have become notorious for playing the long-game when it comes to big-money signings. Woodward left it late last summer to bring in defender Harry Maguire from Leicester but he was still forced to break the world record fee (£80m). The United chief used the same stunt in January as he attempted to lower Sporting Lisbon's price for Bruno Fernandes. Eventually the Portuguese side accepted an initial £47m fee with up to £21m added on in instalments and bonuses. German publication Kicker claim Dortmund believe that Woodward is making a 'fundamental error' by thinking their valuation will drop. Sancho has two years remaining on his current contract and Dortmund are confident his value will remain the same if they were to sell him next year instead. Source- Daily and Sunday Express
