Manchester City and Tottenham in €5m battle for highly-rated teenage

Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur will battle for Toulouse starlet Adil Taoui in January, according to French outlet Foot Mercato. Taoui, who is valued in the €5m bracket, is yet to feature for the senior team, but is regarded a hot prospect and has attracted interest from a range of clubs over the past year. The 17-year-old is under contract until 2021, with City and Spurs tempted to make offers in January to tie him down as one for the future. City could have a slight advantage in the battle, due to a positive relationship with Toulouse, with midfielder Manu Garcia joining the Ligue 1 side on loan in the summer.
