Manchester City shirt numbers available to Nathan Ake ahead of transfer from Bournemouth

Bournemouth have accepted Manchester City’s £41m bid for defender Nathan Ake, according to Fabrizio Romano. Talks between the clubs over the Netherlands centre-back had begun before the end of the Premier League season. Ahead of Ake's move to City, Manchester Evening News have taken a look at available numbers that the defender can wear at the club. Number 3 has been previsouly worn by Danilo, Bacary Sagna and Maicon and it can be an alternative to the number Ake wears for Bournemouth, which is number 5, however it is currently occupied at City. Number 4 can also be an alternative to Ake's current number. It has been previously worn by club legend Vincent Kompany and Mike Doyle between 1965-1978. Number 6  is currently vacant. The last player to have played with the number at his back was Fernando. Number 13 which is most commonly used for a back-up goalkeepers has been last worn by Willy Caballero and is currently vacant. Number 18 is currently vacant. It has been previously worn by Fabian Delph, Gareth Barry and Frank Lampard. Number 19  is not commonly associated with defenders, however it is currently vacant after Leroy Sane left the club this summer.
