Manchester City to open contract talks with youngster

Manchester City are reportedly planning to open contract talks with centre-back Eric Garcia, who made his first team debut last season. The Citizens signed Eric García from Barcelona in 2017, and he made his Premier League debut in September and was then restricted to only EFL Cup matches, until Pep Guardiola started using him regularly since the start of last month. According to Sport, the 18-year-old is considered to be part of the Premier League winners’ first team, instead of being considered as an academy player. For months, Pep Guardiola's side have been in contact with the Spaniard’s representatives to renew his deal. The conversation over a new contract is expected to begin in the upcoming weeks and there’s belief at the club that García will commit his future to the English champions. The youngster signed an extension at Manchester City in July 2018 which is set to expire in 2022. Source- Sport Witness
